Boat is making lots of creaking noise.seems to be comming more from side bars.tramp is very tight, and boat sails relativly stiff. Is this noise usual and/or can it be fixed?

There are 2 options for this:

A. if your boat is older than 5 years, it is time to replace it because the beam will break ;-)
B. if your boat is new, this is normal sound of the boat that enjoys sailing. Nothing to worry about.

i doubt your beam is about to break, my boat is an 81, its always been creaky and ive never had a prob. the annoying sound is probably friction between a beam and a corner casting. some of us glue our boats together with epoxy, i glued my 16. its quieter now.

Found the problem. The shock cord for the righting system, which I had tied off on the dolfin striker, was way too tight. When I losend it off the creaking from the side rails disappeared.
