Well its fast approaching and now that we have our early season hurricanes out of the way the course is set for a fabulous event this year ! The 2004 RTI race is set for Friday thru Sunday Sept 17,18,19. The format is the same as the last several years and is dramatically enhanced by our new host...the Fort Walton Yacht Club. The venue will stay the same with a few location changes. As the YC will be our host they have opened up their total facilities for all cat and tri sailors that enter this storied event.You have a choice of setting up at the Leeside Park as in past years or at the YC where the Friday night events will be held. The distance to the start line is about the same so your sail on Saturday morning will not change. The Yacht Club offers great facilities, launching ramp, sandy beaches as well as trailer storage. The late registration will be held at the YC as well as the Friday nights RTI race secrets seminar and Skippers meeting. There will be food and beverages to start the weekend off with and to cap off the Friday activities. The Race will start as usual 7 am Saturday and the course will be the same as the past 25 years with the Awards presentation Sunday morning early enough to hit the road and get home at a decent time.
