Has anyone ever sailed on LAke Okeechobee? It is 40 miles across, seems loke it would be a great location.

Is there too many alligators or some other danger that prohibits it from being used?

Its a dang long way to shore when the thunderstorms make up:
see RockledgeEngineering's videoclip for that kind of fun! WOW!
However- in the winter- there are no thunderstorms.

Eric,
There is no wind on Lake Okeechobee except when the fronts come thru in the winter. I've been there three times. A few years ago there was a distance race across the lake.
