I live in Virginia and currently have an old hobie 18. I have done a moderate amount of crewing on large boat racing (not my boat obviously), and would like to get into racing catamarans in the virginia area. I live in Richmond.

I have been looking at the Nacra F18 on the web and am thinking some thing along this line would be a great boat.

Is this a reasonable boat?

Also, are there reasonable options to race this or other cats in the Virginia area?
