Under the recommendation of Bob Curry, our expert weather guesser, the RTI scheduled for Sept 18 has been cancelled due to Hurricane Ivan. The general concensus has been that the last two hurricanes have impacted too many sailors that have already decided not to attend as evidenced by the low number preregistered. The major reason is the uncertainity provided by Ivan and the need to let those of you travelling from out of town know early enough to change your plans.The host FWYC is looking at the calender for possible reschedule dates and I will keep it posted here for your information.

Thank you. These hurricanes have everyone on edge and wreaks havoc with future planning. The 18th was out of the question for me anyhow, perhaps the next date will be better. I need to try to get there to sail with you ARC guys and get some riggin tips. Please keep in mind that the Key LArgo Steeplechase is in December, and Tradewinds is in January.

Thanks for the early notice, Mike, we were going to have to leave Wednesday to get there on time. Please let us know when it might be re-scheduled and batten down the hatches well. Our thoughts are with you.

I hope that Ivan will weaken substantially before landfall and that damage is minimal. If I may make a rather insensitive inquiry (while it's on my mind) how will the preregistration fees be considered?
