All interests in the FL panhandle should batten down, board up, and seek shelter elsewhere! My family is boarding and we are heading west tomorrow afternoon. Horse trailer in tow and of course the N17! Eglin is evacuating tomorrow as well. Hope everyone get's through this one safely and ready to pick up the pieces over next weekend. The "Visit" will begin on Wednesday morning with hurricane force winds pummeling the area for a good 24-28 hours.

See ya!!

Bob

I wonder how far west Bob is heading from Pensacola. Maybe Texas? It's interesting to know where people go, and why, when they evacuate from their home area. When Andrew was coming back in 1992 a lot of people who left the Keys went to Homestead, and, ironically, that ended up being ground zero. No damage in the Keys.

My "rule of thumb" is to zero out the odometer when I cross the projected path and go west of the track for 200 miles. Stop where ever that my be. Makes for a great adventure! This allows you to get out of harms way from feeder band tornados.

Hi Bob,

All your sailing friends around Dunedin Causeway wish you the best in "weathering" this storm. Lets hope that Ivan "cools down" before landfall.

Hey Bob,

don't worry, some guy is going to fly a 747 into the storm and make it weaker!

Tell me how many different ways that could go wrong :P
