Yeah Jake, thats it. In my many years I've never seen one do this. It went out into the atlantic and a tail section of the system came across florida or something and reformed in the Gulf. I'm just glad its not going back to the Alabama/Florida area, they've had enough, we'll take this one...

I've got to go secure my Stiletto now.

This Ivan is not the same one that slammed us on this part of the Gulf Coast. This part came off Ivan before it hit, then crossed Florida into the Gulf and formed into a tropical storm.

Just getting back online...
Power and water still out on the island.
From Ft Waltons perspective... bad but not Opal. Gulf Shores / PNS I'm sure worse than Opal.
I stayed on the Beach in my condo and have some ?good video i may have up in the next day or two.

Prays to are neighbors to the west
Many thanks to the thousands that have helped us put our community back together.

All,

I know of a pilot (747) who travelled east yesterday across the pond. His post on our performance car forum is here

I include the text here too as the link in very interesting

Quote
Just flown over the Atlantic and behind hurricane Jeanne, Karl is forming. We were 600 miles to the north of Karl and still got knocked about a bit. Looks like this will be the biggest of the season so far but our met people don't think it will make landfall, which means very likely the UK will experience the remnants in 10-14 days.

Jeanne is in the centre of this image and Karl up to the top right.

2004 Caribbean/North Atlantic storms are called Alex, Bonnie, Charley, Danielle, Earl, Frances, Gaston, Hermine, Ivan, Jeanne, Karl, Lisa, Matthew, Nicole, Otto, Paula, Richard, Shary, Thomas, Virginie and Walter.

The time lapse here is interesting too...
