What ever happened to the boat, F18HT, that was modified in the Lars Gook(sp?) shop. I saw a picture of it and the rear beam looked like it had been raised up about 6 inches or so. Was this project ever completed and did the boat sail. If so, what were the results?

I believe that is the "gunboat" 18HT that Bob Hodges and WF used in the Little America's Cup competition. They bought the boat from Peter Johnstone. It is supposedly very successful according to others who have sailed this boat.

The project was successful - see http://www.f18htclass.com/n_bleedingedge.html

Peter Johnstone sailed the modified HT very successfully and then sold it to WF Oliver who raced it with Bob Hodges in the ICCT. Bob and Chris Brown came in first place at the unlimited regatta on the boat in Sept 04.

Quote from Bob H on the HT forum " The Gunboat HT is the BEST boat in the fleet......The fact that we pushed Johnny and Charlie as hard as we did speaks volumes for the boat and the modifications that were made. I'll say it again, the Gunboat is the easiest boat to sail once the breeze gets over 10 knots and you see chop and waves on the course. This is the direction the class needs to take"
