1 strike out was used.
Again Jennifer shows us how it is done. Great show indeed. Apparently the race between her and her crew and the second place Nacra F18 crew was close. The following pics at least show something of that :
here a report taken of the forum at Onedesign.net made by Fearless_Ryder (Frank Rodericks)
Had about 15 to 18 mph winds on Saturday with lots of lanes and 10 to 30 degree shifts, reminded me alot of last year. Louey ran 5 races quite well, long fun day. Had to keep the jib furled myself, lots of power under main though. Flew the kite too . Sunday nada, race canceled. Spin class results were, 1)T4.9 (Jen & Kelly), 2) NAF18 Alex & Pats, 3) yours truely, 4) Tina (normally with JC) driving HTIG, 5) I-20 Space Coast, 6) I-20 Solo sailor (dont remeber name; he didnt last long in heavy wind). Overall about 20 boats. Lowens did awesome job with the whole affair, Shipes and Eads took first in Barbeque Fleet. Definitely a great time. Should be some great pictures comming too, though you cant tell in the photos how hard the puffs punched us.
Here the comment by photographer Roy Laughlin
The Portsmouth spinnaker class, with 6 members, tied with the Hobie wave fleet for the largest one. The contest here was between Jennifer Lindsay / Kelly Gray on Jennifer's Taipan 18, and Alex & Patsy Shaffer on a Nacra F 18 sloop. Each race was a close contest between these two teams. Jennifer and Kelly at least once won the race boat for boat, and otherwise finished 1st on corrected time to take four bullets, while team Shaffer finished solidly in 2nd place on corrected times. Frank Rodricks finished solidly in 3rd place on a highly modified Nacra 5.2. Fourth and 5th places were contested by Tina Pastoor & Brian Hollinger on a Hobie 18 Tiger and Mark Herendeen & Kieran Devanney on an Inter 20. In the end, Pastoor & Hollinger finished 4th with Herendeen & Devanney in 5th. [Tina has most often been a crew of special merit for, among others, JC. When I asked her where she found Brian to crew for her, she replied, "The internet." Apparently, you can get more than just computer viruses from the internet. This time, she down loaded a highly effective crew. Tina, tell us: How did you do that? Think I could download a house painter? ]
