The TBCSI Macho Man Date is April 9, 2005 not April 2 as stated on page 37 of the Feb issue of Sailing World.
The day after Macho is the TBCSI Mini Macho at the Dunedin Causeway, same place the Big Macho ends. People leave their boats on the beach over night and run the smaller distance around some islands the next day.
As I recall the Macho is about 75 miles straight line and the Mini can be, depending on the wind and course, 35 miles. Gee sounds like the Gulf Coast 100.
The Cat coverage in Sailing World magazine was great and we have been getting good press by Dave Ellis in the St. Petersburgh Times for both TBCSI Regattas this year. For more events see our web site calendar
http://www.tampabaycatsailors.com/To answer Mary’s Question: Why are there Regattas?:
TBCSI, Tampa Bay Catamaran Sailors, has scheduled over 9 big Regattas for this year with two under our belt for 2005. TBCSI Hangover & TBCSI Icecrusher.
Possible reasons:
- We like everyone to come and have a good time?
- We make a ton of money charging $10 Registration for most regattas?
- Now that you mention it Mary, we are out of our minds and should stop it!
