For those of you who may be interested the First Hobie 16 National report is at http://www.uol.com.br/nauticaweb/agenda/hobie_resultados.htm - in Spanish.

Sound like they had a great event but had a really difficult time getting boats to the event which resulted in many participants being left out. Mario Roberto was the man in charge and he indicated that this years event was difficult to get going but next years event will be much more successful (getting boats to the event) due to the planning already taking place and the boat problem being or in the process of being solved. He also indicated there is a lot of interest in next years event. I know So. America has some great 16 sailors and it is nice to see they are finally getting things going down there.
