Just had to fix a hole on my I 20. I did the finish with white gel coat. You can buy a small reusable spayer at your local marine dealer. They are caller "Preval" sprayers.

You should thin the gel coat with acetone about 10% when you mix it. The directions for this are on the can. When you finish, clean the sprayer with acetone again by spraying thru it until all the gel is out of it.

If you are spraying multiple coats, I have had good luck with spraying a coat then placing the sprayer in a bucket of ice, let the first coat get tacky, then spray on second coat. This worked for at least 4 coats.

It is very important to cover the gel coat so it will "go off" The easiest thing I have found was PVA Mold release spray.

All the directions are on the products. Read and follow them.

there is an additive called 'air wax'. mix this at 1.5-2% with the gel. this will do a better job of getting the gel to go "off", well not stay sticky. i know pva works, but it scares me to use it for this application.
