U.S. MULTIHULL CHAMPIONSHIP KICKS OFF U.S. NATIONAL SAILING CHAMPIONSHIPS
SERIES

Portsmouth, R.I. (April 5, 2005) - Next week's U.S. Multihull Championship
kicks off the 2005 season US SAILING's National Championships Series of 18
events. Hosted by Alamitos Bay Yacht Club in Long Beach, Calif., from
April 13 to 17, the U.S. Multihull Championship is one of seven National
Championships scheduled to be held on the West Coast this year.

Twenty teams from across the country have qualified to compete in the
event, which will be raced in Hobie Tigers supplied by Hobie Cat Company.
The list of competitors includes defending champion Mike Montague (Santa
Rosa, Calif.) sailing with Mike Luebkemann (Seal Beach, Calif.); Hobie 16
North American Champions Armando Noriega and Javier Cabildo (MEX); Nacra
20 North American Champions Nigel Pitt (Hartwell, Ga.) and Mike Krantz
(Flowery Branch, Ga.); and 2004 U.S. Youth Multihull Champions TJ and
Jerry Tullo (Staten Island, N.Y.). This will be a good practice event for
the young Tullo brothers who will represent the U.S. at the Volvo Youth
Sailing ISAF World Championship in Korea this summer.

The winner of the event will receive US SAILING's Hobie Alter Cup, a
perpetual trophy named after Hobie Alter, Sr. for his extraordinary
promotion of one-design multihull sailing and racing programs.

If I were a betting man, my pick to win it all this year is Pete Melvin/Jay Glaser, with Hobie employees Greg Thomas/Jacque Bernier in 2nd.

What do YOU think?

In addition to great coverage that will likely be provided from the US Sailing website, Team Seacats will be putting out a daily email story and (hopefully) photos on the website from the event. Subscribe now for the email at www.teamseacats.com in the bottom of the left navigation bar. I'm not sure if we are going to be close enough to the front to give you a story about 1st place but we'll tell the story of the experience as a whole.

We solely own and keep secure this email distribution package as well as any information you submit. There will be a working "unsubscribe" link in any email you receive from us and you will definitely not receive any spam as a result of entering your information. We will send a text email message from time to time when we do major website updates or daily from large events we attend (Like this year's Alter Cup, NAF18 Nationals, etc.) when techology allows!
