Team Velocity Sailing is present and accounted for...Tad, me, and our 2 ground crew members Derek and James will be heading out of Raleigh tomorrow night at 9:00 (after my last exam!). ETA for Hollywood is sometime after lunch on Friday. We will be updating our website, www.velocitysailing.com , every day when we come in, including pictures, so you all can keep up with the race there as well. See you on the beach!

New checkpoints are finally up at the official site - looks like some hotel reservations might need to be changed, too.

Harry Newkirk and Charlie Trinque are sailing for Key Sailing, with Kirk Newkirk and Mark Smith as ground crew. Couple more 'Utes.'

Good luck to all the teams - surf has been pretty big this week - hope it lays down for you!

After watching Lionel Messi play, I realize I need to sail harder.

Yep! I'm not sure I qualify as "great crew" (in caps no less!) but I'm looking forward to the opportunity to sail with Carl and for Sailmax.biz. Bonnie and I are leaving out tomorrow morning to go meet the boat!

JC and Kenny have teamed up as this year's Team Tybee, Mike Krantz and David Lennard are on Sailmax.biz 1 (Carl and I will be on Sailmax.biz 2). Mike w/ St. Louis cats is also racing.

Things here are and have been busy as we get all our preparations in order. My billiard table is completely covered with the electronics, gear, and backup gear for the race. Bonnie will be providing coverage at www.sailmax.biz and we'll probably have some stuff on www.teamseacats.com.

The website doesn't seem too actively maintained. The link to registered teams shows last year's details.

Mark.

Jim is there going to be a nice post-race gathering this year or should I make dinner plans?
