Morning Folks:

Here in (the recently unfrozen) Midwest, it is almost time to put my rebuilt 1980s H-16 into the water for the first time this year.

Given that I will be pulling it up and down the beach a lot, I thought that I would add the regular rope lines with the clear plastic pipe covers at the front and the rear (outside the hull lip) of the boat.

Does anybody know the right locations to place the ropes so that the boat is properly balanced....and so I can use the rear rope as a place to lock my foot when I am all the way back on the rear of the hull trapped out? I know that I used to keep (+10 years ago since I had my last H-16) my rear carrying handle pretty far back, but can't remember exactly how many inches aft it was.

Suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Paul

I would rather be sailing, than reading about sailing!

I don't know, Paul:

I remember seeing all the 16's with the rear foot strap just the way you described; I guess I would just try to see what's comfortable. I woild probably stay right behind the post. We would try to use the dolphin striker when we were pulling it around.
