Posts: 29 Banner Elk, NC | Ahh..the month of wind is finally here. After all those hot windless summer days the breeze is blowin' here in Hickory. I feel proud that I'm the only Hobie on the Lake and can't get enough of flying a hull solo while hangin' out on the trap. It truly is one of the best feelings in the world. The power and control of the Hobie is unmatched by anything I've ever done. It has almost become an obsession and I love introducing all my "what is a Hobie Cat?" friends by taking them out and scaring the crap out of them for a few hours. Green Day must be right and I am dreaming so Wake Me Up When September Ends. Have a Hobie Day and hope all you NC residents are skipping work to go sail, it's worth it!

Posts: 29 Banner Elk, NC | Yes, I finished my restoration and have been waiting for solid wind. The long and narrow channel that is Lake Hickory is not great, but convenient as I'm 1/2 mile away. It's a lot like some of the channels of Lake Norman, but with less consistent wind - I guess that's why I'm the only one out there in any type of sailing vessel. Have definitely had some fun on Lake Norman, this past Sat. in fact. I'd love to bring it down to Jordan and sail with ya Howard. I'm sure I could learn a lot.
