UPDATE 3/25/2002

Since our last update of three weeks ago on 2/21/2002 we have finished and

pulled hull #2 out of the molds. Both hulls for boat number one are complete

with deck, bunk and bulkheads. I?m very happy that each hull weighs only 815

lbs untrimmed. This means we are well on our way in meeting our ?all up

weight? goals for the boat?.2500 pounds or less. At 2500 pounds and

comparing ourselves to the very fast F31 we will be 3 feet longer on the

waterline, 1000 lbs pounds lighter and carry the same sail area on a taller

more efficient sail plan. Not to mention half the price. Should be fun!

Currently, we have the major components completed and in stock. They include

two hulls, mast and rigging, a suit of 5 carbon, Kevlar and nylon sails,

beams, beam straps and bolts with the new custom expanding trailer in

production at FE Trailers in San Diego.

Fast Sailing!

Nice boat! Like a grown up stilletto but without the transparent canopy?!

Some questions:

The beams seems to be very small in size. Most other cats in that size have a really fat main beam and rear beam and a small beam in the front just to keep the hulls apart. The front beam are sometimes attached to the hulls with a pivoting thing so the beam doesn't break.

The boats I compare with are the European micro multihull class (26 ft) with boats like firebird, mycat, spyder and also the F28 racing not class(NOT the Farrier tri F28!!!), those boats fly a hull in 8 knots of breeze and have a ready to sail weight from 800 kg and lower.

cheers,

Hakan
