Whats wrong with it ,Drop shadow ,graduation of colour in the lettering ,Arc,positive ,negative slant and boat colour background .I thought it gave someone a pretty good starting point in the world boat lettering. And I think archaic is if 10000 year old Puerto Rican indians wrote in english there,
"Crazy Taino" . I went to commercial art school for 8 months buddy and I am still colour blind!

Thanks for the url to the BoatU.S. graphics, Bob. I think it is really cool -- it lets even non-arty people like me pretend to be creative.

Its still Archaic, you want custom graphics, let the people who know about custom graphics do it, NOT some online fill in the blanks page.

But hey we all get what we pay for. To each its own.

I got my name for the boat from Boatus... seems to look nice to me (but admittedly, I am too lazy to do much else). I have a monohull (anyone want to buy?) Named Tempus and I figured naming the cat Fugit made sense.. of course everyone wants to saay fu--it but it comes from the latin for "time flies"
unfortunately the name will be the only thing with color on the boat once I get my new sails.

Good job PTP,and we learn Latin too ! Personally I thought it was a play on fudget.I guess awsome was a little to strong a description for the graphics. You can however get an idea of how colours names and type styles flow together.Lesson 1. If your bows tend to be more square (mystere/nacra)use a boxier typestyle like "Dynamo". I slanted like a tornado or P19.....etc. enforce more of a positive slant. Blades ,Foxes and Bimares should try a negative type slant. If you use the wrong style you could risk a lot of negative attention drawn to you on the race course with the other sailors wondering what the hell you have written on your boat.worse case scenario is it actually slows the boat down by a couple of knots.

I can never figure out whether I should assume people know what "tempus fugit" means. I took latin in high school and only remember phrases like that.
Not sure about the square font rec for square bows. I thought having a little angle with the chancery font would work well (besides, I used the same font on my monohull and figured it would work well). I originally thought about putting it on the stern but it didn't look right. A huge FUGIT along the hull would have been nice but the price goes up exponentially.

Good enough for Government work PTP! Now enough with the artsy fartsy just get out there and detail those hulls. And you better get in a couple of hours of the "Man Show" with an episode of "Trippin the Rift" for good measure.............. Just to be safe.

If somebody lets this craey taino do their graphics, they may risk the possiblity of a mispelled name.

I really like the graphics on the boat, but there is no way that I would place a sticker on my boat that mis spells my boat's name.

Bob,

No matter which way you slant the font, it will only line up with the bow slant direction on one hull. The other hull will be wrong unless you order the slant to be in the opposite direction on each hull.

If you order two names that have the same slant, then I guess you could apply the decal to the outside of one hull and inside of the other hull.

That would look just as bad, I suppose. I guess I had better leave it up to the artsie folks.

Thanks Gary, thats one of those things that you just stick the damn lettering on the boat after you have waited two weeks for them to arrive. Again good point about the opposite graphics.

LOL, of course this is comming from a person that has no clue about graphics, or specifically in this case fonts. If you knew about fonts you would see that using the font named dodger, it spells the z as what you call an E.

Its cool, someone has to learn somewhere

Well Robi you obviously fixed the Z I remember somone needing therapy after they tried to read it when you first posted it. Now I would really consider the orange even though thats where I'm heading for colour I'll let you use it too. call Matt and order a couple orange hulls I double dare ya.And get rid of that logo for waterlilly of the month club on the side.

ahhahahahah, I really dont understand your posts, but if that makes you happy, by all means go for it. :)

Why would I have to order new orange hulls? I got perfectly sound white hulls. And water lilly? I dont get it.

my old beater h16 has one white hull and one original yellow one, due to being tboned by a laser. i have considered trying to sell it (who would want it?) but its been a good boat and it wins its share of club races. so i'd like to relate the hulls graphically, maybe some yellow trim on the white hull and white on the yellow one. i'm thinking HALF FAST on each hull in big letters ;^}

Mmmm one white hull one yellow hull,HALF FAST>HALF LAST>HALF PASSED>HALFBIE KAT using yellow hull in equation>SOUR PUSS or derivative there of. Whatever you take go the site and lay the letters out for kicks . You will see some of the typestyles just do not work with the words themselves.

Robi the Avatar I see in orange-red sets off a more intersting mood to the name and graphics of Crazy Taino, now it hangs there in a stark white field floating. The fountain thingy in the middle of the boat is way to big and belongs on the stern of one of Vectorworks cabin cruisers or bass boats. It's a Blade not a Vectorwork Thats all IMHO!
