How tight should the rigging be on a H16 . Should there still be some play or should the shrouds and forestay be tight (when at rest) . This is my first hobie, in case you cant tell, I used to sail on bigger monohulls and am more familiar with the way they are rigged.

Go to www.nahca.org/hobies/hobie16_specifications.htm there is a tuning guide in pdf format you can download. I believe it has the info your looking for.

Thank You, Now will there still be some play in the shrouds. I used that guide on the nahca site but my shruods were still loose. I guess how much play is ok before the mast falls off under way.

Shroud/forestay tension is subject of much debate among racers, particularly in light/heavy air. 1 to 2 inch shroud deflection when tensioned should get you started.
