I too had a great late sail last Saturday. The lake temp is way up for this time of year, and the air was the same at about 62. We left our island and went upwind a couple of Km in 30knot winds, and when we turned back we couldn't see the island because of a heavy squall. As we hit the squall it began to hail - very hard!
It was too windy to get under the tramp, so we rode it into the island under what felt like machine gun fire. That was a first for me. I'll be retiring the Hobie for the winter this weekend. As soon as the ice is strong enough we will have the power kites and skis out. (Last year we hit 60km/hr with Kite and ski)
Has anyone converted the H16 to a "SnHobie Cat"?
