OK Dan
I was gonna make a joke that it looked like you in the movie. Turns out it is.
You ruined a perfectly good joke here . . . .
Cool New Boat! Looks a huge amount like the Blade hulls series.
Wonder if any of the Infusions are going to come to the US, or are they all off overseas?
Impressions of the Infusion vs the Traditional Tigers & Nacra F-18's? ComeOn, Spill da beans!!

I got an email from performance about the availabity of the boats. The Infusion boats will be available in the US early O6'. I have no idea how many are going overseas or what the priority is for the US boats. Of course non of this is cast is stone.

I suspect the first boats available will be the Alter Cup boats.

Hi Ding:
Looks a lot like the Capricorn or the Blade with those raked hulls. Any idea on price?

It sure does look a lot like the cap and blade. Hope it performs like the cap! I don't know how the Blade sails yet. Looks like there is only two Blades sailing in OZ and one of them is a home build.

I wish Matt had gone with the 18 instead of the 16.

No, I don't have a price schedule. I wouldn't expect it to cost more (or much more) than the current Nacra F18's. But, you never know. If the boat is a winner then all bets are off.

Just heard rumor the first ones here are slated for Nigel and Alex, Sounds true enough to expect a couple nice used Nacra F-18's to be available soon. Looks like we might be seeing another Spring Fever Boat Assembly Marathon.

What is the distinction between a home-build and a prototype ? Actually both are prototypes, were the mark 2 is a refinement of the mark 1 (first) design. This way they're are honing in on a good design.

Why not go with both ? Wait a while; progres may be slow but it is certainly there. Personaly I have much faith in such an approach. You need sufficient time of testing and evalution to get the product just right.

The point here is the Blade 18 would be avaliable now. With the 10 boat (Blade 16) order for the 07 Alter Cup and having to still work his day job, I don't think there's enough time in the day for the 18. I could be wrong, but guy needs a life too.

Maybe he is still trying to figure out how to add weight to make the Blade F18 class legal...

You can now add about 8 new Blade F16 orders (to private owners) for 2006 to that as well.

The news is that the first Vectorworks Marine Blade F16 with Ullman sails has just been delivered to Singapore now.

The Blade F16 is going in full force production. By the end of 2006 I expect some 30 VWM Blade F16's to have been build or be waiting for a production slot to open up. By march 2005 we'll be around 15 boats, at least that is what the order/delivery list is suggesting. Then add the 11 of the Alter Cup 2007 = 26 which need to be build and some new orders and we'll be at 30 boats.

This is really looking good guys.

Interesting that another 200 of these heavy boats will built in 6 months and that doesn't include Hobie, Cap, and others compared to 26 in 18 months. Again, if it was all about the boat everyone would be on a 'T' and an 'A' cat.

Ding,

Even if it was all about the boat I still wouldn't have either a Tornado or A-cat. I can't singlehanded an A-cat nor can I doublehand an A-cat or put a spi to it without voiding the warranty.

No mate neither boat would do it for me.

Can't singlehand an 'A'... WTF!? You are the perfect build for an 'A' cat.

Hey Dave, go easy on Stewart, he is, after all, Australian .
The Auzzie boatbuilding mindset is to make things lighter while still allowing homebuilders to be competitive in simple plywood construction, they don`t understand why the F18 rules insist on building a boat UP to minimum weight rather than down to it. Most home-builders won`t consider an F18 project simply because they don`t want to add THAT MUCH lead unless building a keelboat (I`m just kidding here. Nice to see home-built Capricorns and Blade F18`s entering the market, will bring the cost of being competitive down in F18, especially in markets like mine, although F18 will not take off here easily, Hobie Tigers are the only F18`s and it looks set to stay that way.) No-one would build a competitor, only to be disallowed to race at Hobie events, which would be the only events catering for them in real terms.

My reply was intended to hang of Wouters post, and I think Wout understood that looking at some of his later reponses. I went after my buddy Wout because he was promoting the F16 on a F18 forum so he got a boot in the nuts.

You're getting pretty good with that "boot in da nutz" thing... How do you sail with those things on???
