My ship came in today so to speak.
I have been lurking these forums for quite some time. I have been sailing a Nacra 5.2 for about 10 years now. I sail on a prairie lake (Wabamun) at a sailing club that races every weekend from May to October. Like many I have suffered from lack of consistent crew. So I have been following the F16 class for some time.
Back to my ship coming in. Today, I was informed of an inheritance and that it was directed to my buying myself a new boat. So, I figure a Blade is in my future. I hope to get down to Titusville this winter and hand over my credit card.
I feel like a kid who just got a new bicycle when there is 5 feet of snow on the ground.

Good for you! Get down here as soon as possible, it's blowing! Maybe you could pick it up at the Tradewinds regatta, Jan 13-15?

Last I heard there is a order on a blade, the soonest it can be delivered, March 2006.

Bruce,

Welcome to the club !

Most have been some letter you send to Santa !

Please feel free to put yourself on our map at http://www.frappr.com/formula16classgroup I looked edmonton Alberta up on it and boy it is outthere ! Mind you, I'm sailing at the same lattitude. However no snow overhere, as I'm in a sea climate where the nearby sea keept the temperators relatively high (just above freezin)

I think Matt has some production to do over the following months. Several boats from Europe are on order as well I think from Singapore, then add the US customers that said yes over the last 3 months. Matt will be producing a series of them.

Guess you'd need a 230 lb boat to get over the 5 foot snowdrifts.
Think my Tiger @ #400 would just settle in and wait for Spring.

Excellent choice in boats. I've got the Blade coming in March (see above, Tom Shannon). The delivery date was my choice - Matt could have had it ready earlier. It sounds as if he will be pretty busy this spring. Good news for him and the F16 fleet.

Does Jeffrey from ATL (Taipan 4.9) lurk on this forum? He is the closest F16 to me. Shoot me a PM if you are listening.

I'll check it out. Maybe we can get you guys to come West a couple of hours once and again. Hopefully, participation on our part will provide some incentive for you guys to check us out....www.birminghamsailingclub.org

I know it starts with us particiating outside our lake. Looking forward to 2006....

Tom:
Could potentially plan a trip to Birmingham, or maybe if we met at Lake Lanier it's pretty central, We'll let Jeff host the Event . . . Maybe at GWTW???? Haven't done that one in a few. Not since Gar and Todd and the Famous Hobie 17 boarding party.

We'll have to work it out when the spring boat ownership dust settles.
Don't know what 2006 will bring, I'm looking at a strong possibility of a job change. Will have more time off but not as much control over when I get it.
Too much stress, Having chest pain from stress is not particularly good for the cardiology manager.
I generally do a lot of local racing, try to get about 6 events in traveling. Charleston, Charlotte, Lake Hartwell,
Try to get at least one Florida Race in a year, try for two. Have yet to make our Myrtle Beach Races, This was my year for that and the event got killed.
As Long as I get Spring Fever off Everything else just sorta happens as work has allowed it, which being on call 24/7/365 for the last 4 years has not allowed too well. We'll see as this year progresses.
Too many unknowns to make absolute plans right now.

Tom-
I did Halloween regatta there a few years ago on my Taipan 4.9 uni. Only boat I couldn't catch boat for boat was a guy single-handing his Miracle 20 (with full sail!) so they know the potential of these boats. Been working too hard to make many regattas out of town the last few years and long drives by yourself get old. Used to have a fellow Taipan sailor in Dallas but he sold his boat so I've been pretty isolated. Great to see the class taking off now that there is a US builder!
