ISAF international small catamaran handicap rating system has me confused.

Under Hobie it lists;

Hobie 20 Formula 1.02
and the Hobie FOX F20 0.95

and then totally separate from Hobie "choices"

Miracle 20 0.99

We recently purchased a Hobie Miracle 20, which rating applies? Is there an Euro or Asian version of the Miracle (Hobie 20 formula)? or is this a rating for the optional spi (or Miracle fitted for F20)? Which makes no sense that a "stock" Miracle would have a lower rating than a spi boat.

puzzled in prairieland

The Miracle is a very similar boat to the Hurricane 5.9. The Fox is a F20. Not sure what the Hobie 20 is.

Understood the Hobie Miracle 20 was "patterned" after the Hurricane.

To restate my question is the ISAF rating, listed as "Miracle 20", actually the Hobie Miracle 20? or is there a manufacturer I'm unaware of?

I don't know anything about what the word "patterned" exactly means, but when a Miracle turned up at Texel years ago Rob and Reg White were not at all happy!

Quick google came up with:

Hobie Miracle 20

The stats of the boats are different, so they are different boats (all this info is on the SCHRS web page):

Don't be confused. Unless you're going overseas to race.

As far as I know, everyone in the US is doing either PHRF or, more frequently, Portsmouth:
