Danny,
The F16 will be built in Australia.
It is just that I have been far too busy finalising the F18 design to make the plug for the F16. Now that I'm happy with the F18 I've turned my attention towards getting the F16 into production.

Regards,
Phill

Phill writes it down in such a casual way, but I think this is actually big news.

We as a class were missing a fully optimized F16 builder in Australia. Of course we have Vectorworks in USA, Stealth Marine in Europe and Pro-sail asia in Singapore. Australia was missing. We have AHPC with their Taipan, but their fully optimized F16 (along the capricorn F18 lines) is still some time away from production.

Good news indeed.

But Phil Brander, the designer of the Blade F16, is in Austrailia, right? And if you want one there, I'll bet he can build you some hulls of plywood. Wouter's are beautiful, light and strong.

Yeah, but I only seen him do so for very special friends only !

I'm extremely happy with mine and they have survived quite some abuse already. I feel perfectly safe on them even in a big blow and confused seas, although I personally don't particulary like sailing in these survival conditions. I'm getting old !

Phill was refering to glass (carbon ?) build boats being made locally in Australia. Sort of in the way Vectorworks Marine does. I don't think Phill can handle that level of production when building in timber !
