Dear readers,
As you maybe know Wouter did already very much for the development of F16 the last few years. As also noticed on the forum he had the problem with the time in regards to hs study. Wouter is a also member on the sailing club in Zandvoort and we had some discussions goiing on about the F16 and also the chairman and intr. F16 organisation.
I talked to him about this and start working on this, mean while there was some contact with Matt about the Blade F16 in Europe and this is worked out to a set up so the Blade F16 build by VWM is available in Europe. The first boats will arrive in March at the workshop in Zandvoort. In line with these developments the call for a international organisation is getting bigger. So my request is that anyone who has time and feels that he can help participate in the organisation to make the F16 class international a stable and in one direction going organisation.
If you need further information please let me know at the following e-mail address. info@bladeeurope.com
The idea is that it would be better that people sailing in different types of F16 are running the organisation. This to prefent that one boat type get more attention than the other and to avoid that people can give this a feeling of unfear threatment.
I hope to get your positive reactions and build a good and stable F16 class worldwide.

Best regards,

Hans Klok

Dear readers and F16 class members

Hans has announced himself and his intentions. With this reply I want to bump the post back to the top of our forum page. Some important developments are included in Hans post.

One thing is that we're looking for new organisational blood to replace the old guard (Phil and me). Hans has several excellent idea's and he brings in an excellent network of contacts and a invaluable technical background when it comes to catamarans. To initial stages of F16 class establishment are over and so it seemed like a good time for me to stand back and have others bring in new idea's and new enthousiasm.

Hans already mentioned the creation of a more formal class structure and body of officials. The efforts in this field are definately underway and soon they will result in a new class structure. Now is the time to get involved; if you so desire. In a few months time it will be to late to join in and influence the direction chosen.

Up till now the F16 class had been governed from a pretty centralized nucleus, it had to be in order to achieve initial growth and a proper setup. In this setup it was all to easy to accuse anyone (often me) of being biased. To avoid such issues in the future it is strongly requested that owners of different F16 makes step forward now and balance the new steering committee.

I personally know of a few Stealth, Taipan and Blade owners that would be excellent in such a role, so please step up to the plate. You must be willing to strike compromises but apart from that the work involve is not too much, most of the hard work has already been done in the past 5 years.

Phill and me personally will make a few steps back and probably do alot of sailing that we missed out on in the past few years. I'm sure we'll continue to be active F16 class members and help support the class with our experience and network of contacts. I personally will still be an active forum member as I seem to be handy at that.

Having said this I will progressively submit myself to the new authority of the new F16 steering committee; by the end of this springtime I trust to have completed to transfer of authority. Thus proving wrong any predictions of enduring dictatorial tendencies on my part, ... I hope ...

So, lets stick into it and support Hans in forming the new Authority in every respect. No more complaining after the fact now, guys. You have better idea's of how things should be ? Now is your chance, take on a volunteer role and proof your qualities to us all.

Wouter

We need guys and gals for all roles; except the role of chairman.

So local representatives as well as volunteers to take a seat in the main steering committee, we need webmasters and people willing to do get involved with smaller projects like developping a measurement structure. Class promoters and a group of local organisors building up local classes. You name it and we can use it.
