I thought the Infusion was going to be the chosen boat, but the US Sailing website lists the I20. What's the story??

Not stirring the pot! Just hadn't heard about the change, I guess I should spend more time here on the forums.

Maybe a simple search would have helped as well.

Slightly of the thread but worth bringing up I think. I spotted a nice looking I-20/NACRA 20 sailing west near Pensacola pass yesterday. Winds were SW at about 12 plus. Beautiful boat with " new " looking sails. Crew and skipper well forward. Appeared to be sailing really well. The boat was in perfect trim it appeared from my point of view.

It made my day just to see those guys. I heard it was Trey (??) somebody from the Carolinas practicing for the Alter thingy

..........made me want to go get my boat and follow along........

It was NSCUTrey. I ran into them yesterday when they were coming in. I was early for an Alter cup meeting and I stopped by Key Sailing when I saww the fully rigged boat. I walked up and asked how was it out there. He introduced himself and his crew (fun2fly1hull). About halfway through the conversation I told him I have a 6.0 with two spins- one older I20 and one new NE style. Trey asked what my last name was.... and it turns out that Trey is the one I bought that old I20 spin from 5-6 months ago! I had never met him before. Random eh?
They seemed like they had a blast- said they got up to 21kn on GPS. Those guys have their SH-- together.

What do they do with the boats after the regatta is over? Sell them through dealers?

Hey guys,

Trey is the guy I sail with on Tybee 500. Since he's still a college student (as is alan, who is the alternate for the T500) he gets to go on Spring Break and I don't

I know I keep plugging our website, but if you guys want to keep up with us and our shenanigans you can go to www.velocitysailing.com and check us out.

As for the "far forward" thing, we probably sail with our weight more forward than other I20 teams. Probably what led them to pitchpole. Trey said they're putting on the chickenlines this morning

icthus,

Yes, the local dealer is usually in charge of what happens to the boats used in the Alter Cup. Sometimes a few of the boats will go to other dealers after the event. In this case, the local dealer is Keysailing and you should feel free to contact them if you wish to know more.

Ok, I am on Kirk's computer, so I have 5 minutes before I have to get off. Sailing in great down here, I think I am gonna extend my Spring break ohh, say about 6 months or so. Tad, I'll be back in Raleighwood in time for fall semester. This semester's a wash anyway.
We are sailing out from "chickenbone beach" tomorrow morning at 8 am and sailing the 80+ miles to Panama City. We have friends staying down there and we will rendezvous with them before the return trip home (via truck and trailer). Supposedly nasty weather on Thursday has us bailing on sailing back to Pcola. Come see us on the beach at Key Sailing on thursday! PTP is coming by, and anyone is welcome to go for a ride.
Velocity Sailing....coming to a beach near you!

Just got the report - the boys made it to PC just fine. Took a while... wind was on the nose. Ugh.

Do you remember the last time you sailed just for fun?
