First day out on the season and I blew out my main. '83 boat. Any hot rod racers out there have an extra basic main for sale.

Do you want one for racing or for day sailing? I think I know of someone that is thinking about buying a new sail, but the one he has is not a racing sail, per se. How much are you willing to spend? Remember that there are shipping charges that someone has to pay for.

Just a basic sail will do. I bought the boat for $500 just to teach my kids so don't want to go overboard. Sail age, condition, and color will determine price. I have battens so shipping should be easy and can be included in price. I've seen some trade-ins at dealers for $200-$400.

A brand new 3.9oz white main is 480$ from murrays.com. If you plan on sailing the H16 for a couple years it would be a good investment.

David - Check Ebay and craigslist.org. I always see H-16 stuff on Ebay and you never know what you'll find on craigslist. Ed

Hey guys, why not check out Rick's store - Catsailor - for a great price on Hobie mainsails. You can't beat the service either
Cheers
Ron

Catsailor stuff is great- but you can get a main meant to be loos footed- it's a little smaller- on Ebay and leave the boom at home- safer for learning. It won't last as long but they're less $$
