I’m trying to remove and replace the stickers on my 5.0. Does anyone know of any tricks to getting the old ones off. Heat or ? Thanks!

Use a hair dryer.... Heta up and peel away. Then use prepsol or thinners to remove any glue residue...

3m makes an adhesive remover that is awesome. First heat up with hair dryer, pull away sticker, then spray on the 3m remover and wipe away the gue.

3m "Adhesive Remover" If you are in Annapolis, Fawcetts has it up at the old Oceana store. I bought it direclty from 3m as a spray, with shipping was less than $10. 3m Linky:

Where is the spray bottle link. Don't need a gallon of it.

Mary:

Thanks. Is the Silicone Lubricant as good as Mclube? I got a new boat! Mystere 4.3. Guess I will be joining the Formula 14's with Rick. Going to train Ashleigh, 12 yr old grand daughter on it too so she can race uni at first and move up when she is ready and sail with friends.

My solid choice is McLube SailKote. I use it everywhere on my boat, my sails, etc. You will also need to spray the devil out of the spin and snuffer bag to reduce the friction when hoisting and dousing the spinnaker. Not only does it make it easier to deploy the headsail, but saves wear and tear on the sail and the bag.
On the Wave we have those Hobie rudders. And if you religiously spray the cams and moving parts, they work. If not, they don't
Big thing about McLube is it does not attract dirt and grime and does not stain anything (use on the luff of your mainsail for hoisting and lowering and for ease in downhauling)
We have it on this site's store at http://store.catsailor.com/tek9.asp?pg=products&specific=jrqpmpcrk
Good luck with the new boat.
Rick

Just use straight up rubbing alcohol or acetone to remove any glue residue - cheap and easy...
