I ripped the traveler from the track on a nasty jibe. I have a replacement but can't feed it into either end of the track. Suggestions??

Err, perhaps you can elaborate on why you can't make the car enter on the track? E.g. what boat do you have and specifically what is the problem.. (we always love photos btw.)

I have a H-16, 83. trying to replace the main traveler car. The track is so close at the corners I can't slide the new traveler on to the track. I thought about cutting back about an half inch of track, insert traveler then put a screw in the end to keep the travelr fro slideing out. There must be a better way.

You'll have to drill out the pop rivits that hold the track to the crossbar. Take just enough out so you can lift the track to slide the new car in.

Make sure you've got the right pop rivits to replace the drilled out ones.

After you replace the traveler car be sure to tie a knot in the traveler line to prevent the car from smashing into the corner casting on wild jibes.

Or, hook one arm around the main sheets or hold them with a hand to control the speed of the boom swinging across the boat.

Don't EVER let the boom swing across the boat unrestrained. Otherwise, you'll bust up equipment (traveler car!!) and/or kill your crew.

And go into a gybe with as much speed as possible - the boat will gybe much less violently.
