...How is trap cross rigging done? meaning how would one go about rigging a hobie 16 in this way? and how would one go about rigging a hobie 16 with a spinnaker?

Trap cross rigging? I guess this is attaching the bungee of the forward set to the aft wire on the opposite side?

Spinnaker? Take a look at the Hobie Cat Support pages. There are spinnaker instructions there for either a standard system of snuffer.
