Where to go to get custom battens made for a EP square top?

What does your sailmaker recommend for optimum shape and for your use (race, recreational, both, etc.)?

They should be matched to the sail cut, material used, mast bend characteristics and typical winds you sail/race in.

The EP Pentex sq top main I got last spring came with Performance Catbattens, available from Murray's.

Dave:

I have these on my Sabre Pentex squaretop too. These are good battens.

That's what I'm looking for. The foam battens at the lower three spots on the sail seem to me to not be able to shape the sail the way I would like. With a boomless main I get too much curve at the foot, which is giving me a crappy looking slot.

I have the boomless design as well and usually put the traveler on the clew almost all the way forward to pull the foot flatter. I think that does more than the batten type/tension

I have tried that but it seems to flatten the main more than I would like. Wouldn't some beefier battens in the lower three accomplish more without depowering the main.It doesn't seem right to depower for a better slot.
