Hey all,

New to the forum and multihulls (finally saw the light), but thought that I'd post a kudos to some local talent making good here in Fort Walton, the recent home of the Corsair nationals.

In the past 3 weeks area sailors from the Fort Walton area have amassed the following record:
1st place - Volvo 40's in Baltimore: Randy Smyth
1st place - Wave Worlds: Zach Grant
4th place - Hog’s Breath: Brian Lambert
1st place - Corsair Nationals: Don Wigston (720 and overall) and Randy Smyth (31-1D)

For those of you in the area that haven't been racing with us, the FWYC has added a multihull class to all regattas, and we're continuing to grow the fleet size with the addition of 2 corsair 28's this year. Check out the FWYC.org calendar for upcoming races. Hope to see you on the water.

Regards,

C.

Don't forget about MIKE KELLEY who finished top three in both the Mug Cup and Miami/Key Largo in the last three weeks.

My mom has a condo in Destin and I visited the club over the Easter holidays and enjoyed meeting a few people including Mike and Thomas Reynolds (the commodore) during happy hour on Friday.

Hi there,
good on you for getting an Fboat. I suppose you know Bert Rice who seems to be the central Gulf connection for Fboating. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to post your announcement re: FWYC regattas at the Fboats list at Yahoo.

Thanks!

Know of Bruce...haven't met him yet. Post away.

I'm just hoping I get to drink whatever the hell is in the water around here that is making such damn good multi sailors! Can't think of a better school than sailing against these guys every week.

Regards,

C.

All,

Zach's dad Sam (a formidable sailor in his own right)informed me that my intel was a bit off. Zach won the worlds in October of 2004, not recently.

My bad - 'course I stand by my comment about something in the water...

Regards,

C.

Of course, I have to give all the credit for Zach's outstanding sailing ability to his mother. It is in his blood, passed down from Jennifer, who got it from her father...you get the picture.

I am the 'newbie' when it comes to sailing in this family. We are just happy that it is something Zach enjoys and is good at...keeps him off the streets!
