I have a 1984 P-18 that is in pretty good condition and up for adoption, sans trampoline. It has the galvanized trailor, but the wheels may need some work because it has not been used to transport for several years. I have never had a problem with the boat but I have not used it for the past two years.
The hulls are in good condition, do not leak but the plugs are missing. The sails are in good condition also.
The trampoline needs to be replaced ($349 at Murrays) and some of the soft rigging may need to be replaced. I threw the tramp out due to tears because of sun rot. The boat has NEVER been abused and I like it but have not been able to use it for the past two years. I think I have most of the pins and connector, but missing a few. Most of the gear is there.
Here are the known problems: Boat and trailer and main mast are located at the Sandy Hook Cat Club. Call Nick and he can show the boat. You pay the storage fees accrued (maybe $50 at most) for this summer only - I paid the account to date but have not paid for the summer storage as I am trying to decide what to do with it.
The sails and boom are in Port Jefferson in storage (winter storage).
feel free to contact me via e-mail at ecentner2003 @hotmail.com to discuss.
Besides the above problems and accrued summer storage costs, the boat is free... I have proper ownership papers (somewhere), and can attest to lawful ownership.
