Congratulations! Mine is spending the weekend at the trucking distribution center 15 miles away. So close, but yet so far away. That's ok, I've been so busy this week prepping the ski boat for sale (being sold this afternoon) that I have to dedicate the weekend prepping the Catalina 22 to be dropped in the water on Wednesday. The water is already warming up to the low 50's (11 C for the European readers) so hopefully we have good weather for the Memorial Day weekend so I can get it out for its first sail.

You guys from up north need to get down here, it was 90 yesterday and will be 93 today. Gulf water temp. is 83!
It's a real pity that we did not get you sailing on Wed eve. Air temp was about 55 and water temp in the lake could not be above 45 yet. There's always next Wed ! (Hey ! No Inst. Gremlins !)
Congrats Pete ! I'd say that the Tiki will be in dry dock for a while !

Dermot, I'm bringing all my warm stuff, I just hope it's enough! Of course a little anti-freeze before hand might be in order too!
The bad thing about the heat here is that it makes for light air on the lake, as it is going straight up. The cold fronts don't make it this far south this time of year. There should be a sea breeze on both coast though, courtesy of the rising 93 degree air over my house...
Nice boat, good luck with it, looks like it will be a blast!
Thanks Pat. You gonna' make JPOR? I hear there's a race Friday afternoon as well!
Nah, JPOR too far, work schedule sucks, etc. How did the first sail go? I have been trying to nail down (well, rivet would be a better word) things on my boat to make it a little more user friendly (as if that is possible on a 6.0). Hope everything went well if you did go out.. I still wish I could have gone out on Robi's blade at the seminar, but it was so tiring.

I was afraid someone would ask! Sunday's winds were sustained near 20 so I wimped out! Yesterday no wind at all and occassional drizzle! Wednesday for sure!!

We ALL chicken out sometimes. I went down about a month ago with a newbie. It was blowing DOGS off the chains!! Turned sterns into the wind and mast stood up by itself!! Raised the main two time and top battens wiggled out each time. Wind Gods were saying stay in. I dropped mast and just watched. Rather be a chicken than have a broken boat are scared shitless newbie. I can't wait for 4.3 to learn spinnaker on. I will try to get to Fla next year.
Frankly, I was more concerned with my wallet than my body. I dumped a H16 in the same spot 20+ years ago and it ended up against the seawall! Just couldn't risk that with a brand new, untried boat.
I think the lady said, "fiddle dee dee, tomorrow's another day".
If it is any concellation. Last weekeind we aborted a Blade F16 test ride as well. Touches the water, floated for about a minute and turned back. Wise decision at the time, Tiger crew broken their casting in the surf.
Better safe then sorry.
