I so enjoyed meeting some really great people over the weekend. I was looking for the winners posted someplace but I can't find them.

I am still learning everyone's name but I do remember that the F18 class was the 'Nigel and Alex show'. I believe Tom Hall and his wife Marietta were second and Rick Harper third.

The H16 class was won by Garland Ayscue. Brad Daily placed second (I think)

The open B class which was the H20, TheMightyHobie18 and H17 was Lynn Olson (I can't remember his crew's name, sorry) took first in his H 20, David Strickland in his H 18 took second (thanks again for letting me crew David!) and Sam Evans in his H17 took third.

I hope those who know everyone will correct me if I am wrong. I will try again to find out the official scores to post tomorrow.

The other three classes were the monohulls and I don't remember them as well.

I learned lots and had incredible fun. David Strickland explained so much to me about racing. I must have asked hundreds of questions he tolerated me very well. I did try to shut up every once in a while.

Nigel's boat was different than anything I had ever seen. The hulls looked really big and somehow...well...upside down. Different was certainly not synonymous with wrong because that thing could really move. Very cool.

I can't imagine a better way to spend a weekend.

Wendy, You sure know the right crowds to hang out with! Glad you had such a good time. Wish I could've been there myself! Good regattas are a blast even if you don't race. Keep up the good work!

No, David actually raced. I hung onto the boat and did what he told me to.

F18 Class, 8 boats

Nigel /Alex
Krantz /Lennard
Harper/ Goodman
Setelli/ Setelli

Then (I think)
Croughwell/Croughwell
Hall/Hall
Graves/Zander
Mosley/Palmer

This regatta was a fundraiser for our friend and fellow sailor Paul Goff. With 37 boats registered, we were able to raise $1500 to offset his heart surgery expenses. We feel very proud of that fact and have many people to thank for making this regatta a success, but mostly we wish Paul and speedy recovery! Final scores will be at www.seacats.org in the next day or so.

Tad, I just don't understand why you guys didn't drive up here Friday night after the Tybee. You could have made an 11am start on Saturday.

Dave, As someone that's been there, I can really appreciate what you guys have done! I may be looking at another valve job myself, if I can find anyone willing to do it. All the best to you, Brian

Brian, good luck on that. If we need to have a regatta to help you, you know we will!

That was actually a topic of discussion on the car ride from Jekyll Island to Tybee.

If you guys had shown up at TWM the day after the Tybee we would have had to give you a trophy just for being there.

Because I actually got to sail I only have some pics of registration and milling around the clubhouse and such. I know Cary Palmer's wife took some too.

I noticed that pictures are something sailors want but have a hard time getting. I sketch with charcoal and do paintings as a hobby. I did the trophies for this regatta and had several comment that they would like for me to do something of them on their boat sailing but they needed a photo to give me. Four people just this weekend mentioned that they did not have a picture.

One of my girlfriends here in Columbia is an amateur photographer. Even though it is just a hobby for her, she does an excellent job. I spoke with her after the TWM regatta and asked if she would consider coming to regattas and such to photograph. She was actually really excited about the idea.

I want her to photograph and I will sketch or paint whatever people want. I think it will be fun. Sails are so beautiful and the ocean and lakes are wonderful things to draw. I actually do portraits more than anything so I would love to be able to put the sailors in the pictures.
