Do you have a better picture, or others? It is very hard to see much from this picture..

The NACRA 5.8 would be a good guess a this point.

BTW, how was sailing in Gulf Shores?

We had a BLAST!!!

The winds for the first 4 days were great. The last day was a little light but we still had fun.

I did all of the sialing at the end of Orange beach (next to the bridge). On the first day the winds were blowing like hell. We had a time just keeping it under control. But the next day was perfect. The seas were about 2 feet with a Easterly wind. The following days were about the same. I had 1 breakdown... (Port rudder broken on a beach landing...) and I found the BOTH of my hulls leak alot. I'm going to try and test them next week to find the leaks. Hopefully I'll be able to fix em buy the end of June.

In fact we had enough fun to plan another trip at the end of July. Hopefully a few more cats will start heading out their. The only drawback was finding a place to launch the boat. Almost every spot is a "private" entrance or a condo building is in the way.

It looks like a Mystere 6.0 or a Mystere 5.5. The line on the hull is a good clue. Pretty hard to be sure from the picture.

But the black sterns...because they appear to be recessed...are indicative of a Nacra 5.2. Pity we can't make out the spreaders.

I'm with Jake on this one, hulls are definately not a 5.8 and I can't see any spreaders where they should be. I say 5.2

Looks like a lot of hull volume for a 5.2, but could be. Late 70's/early 80's (I think) had that waterline stripe in the gelcoat.

Didn't the old 5.2s have a traveller track that went all the way outboard to the end of the beam? Looks as if this one stops at the inside of the rear beam. %$#@, this'll keep me up all night.

It's not a Mystere 6.0 or 5.5. I'm voting for the Nacra 5.8.

Have Fun

It's an old 5.2! The originals had the separate traveler track on the rear beam (car had wheels not balls) that stopped inside the hull strap, and that looks like a boom- All the other Nacras went boomless after that except the 18 squares which eventually went boomless as well.

I'm leaning 5.2 as well. Look at the Laser beside it; this doesn't seem much longer than the Laser.

I'm doubting the 5.2.
The stripe is too low and the 5.2 didn't have it on the inside of the hulls. This one also looks like a pregnant guppy between the trailer cradles. I don't think the 5.2 had that volume.

Look at the pic of the 5.8 scale model. Dosen't it look just like that?

The boat could have sat in the water and that stripe is literally a water line. Hull shape and size look right to me for a 5.2 - the separate traveler track is another dead ringer.
