17 charter members, so far. I have not received checks from all 17, so send'm in if you have'm.

An lawyer friend of mine is doing the incorporation as a "gift" to the membership (we pay the filing fees, but not her time). Since, it is free - she is doing it on her schedule not mine....I had hoped to have it finalized this week, but it look like it may be another week.

WE STILL COULD USE SOME MORE CHARTER MEMBERS!!!! $15US.

Well done! It might prompt people to send checks if we schedule a business meeting to elect officers. Then we can establish a schedule for a Championship. If not National, at least regional.

I'm proposing a no check no vote rule.

Also, as chairman, I'm disbanding the Steering Committee and naming Tom Shannon executive. With the simple directive to hold elections as soon as possible.

It is wonderful that a class association is finally being formed! How are you contacting F-16 owners? Do you have a membership form to fill out to get information about the owner and the boat? I don't know whether you have contacted Rick, but I haven't heard from anybody.

If you want publicity in the magazine for the F-16 class, somebody please keep me informed by e-mail, mary at catsailor.com.

The initial communication went out by email in early June. Rick (at) catsailor.com was on the distribution list. I obtained the original distribution list from the International F16 group, so if a sailor was not listed with them - then I missed them as well. I've been picking up some inquiries from this forum, as well.

Please PM me or email me (tbshannon(at)charter.net) if you were left off the original communication list for joining the USF16 association. It was not my intention to exclude anyone.

We are charging a $15US fee for the first year's membership dues. This registration fee will help cover the cost of incorporation, US Sailing membership and other small expenses. It is not our intent to make this a money-making venture.

On July 31, the US F16 Class Association will close its bid for Charter Members. Cost of Charter Membership is $15. I must receive your payment prior to July 31. This payment will be applied to the cost of incorporation and the cost of becoming a US Sailing designated fleet.

During the first week of August, 2006:
1. The constitution will be released for ratification.
2. The first slate of officers will be released for discussion and approval.

You will not have a vote in the inaugural class association, unless you join soon.
