Hello All,
The Newport Regatta is quickly approaching for this weekend and it is
time
to register if you intend to do the event!

NOTE~ This is an open class event open to all beach catamarans with a
portsmouth rating equal to or faster than a Hobie 16. Races will be
scored
on portsmouth handicap ratings.

It will be taking place out of sailnewport, and it is looking like a
great
regatta. Frank Keefe has stepped up with a chase boat and has offered
to
operate it during the race. We do however still need some help to
finalize
details.

#1 ~ This is most important... WE NEED TO PREREGISTER FOR THE RACE.
This

#2 ~ We are looking for a few volunteers that could help out on the
commitee
boat
+/or chase boat. If you would like to do this or know someone who
would be
available, it would be a huge help. Please email or call me so I can
best
plan.

#3 ~ We need to talk up this event and increase our showing. The
potential
to make a positive impression on the sailing community at this regatta
is
amazing. There will be hundreds of monohulls racing in the regatta,
and the
chance to 'show off' how much fun beach catamarans are is almost
limitless.
However, we need to have a decent showing to make this positive
impression.
Not only will this be an awesome regatta, but it is also an opportunity
to
make a positive impact on the future of the sport.
