Posts: 71 Delray Beach, FL | Is a title and registration necessary for a 20 ft beach catamaran in Florida? I don't recall this before.

Yep, I just checked the laws, and that is true. All non-motorized vessels are exempt from from registration. However, if your boat is 16 foot or over, you are required to have a title for it (probably only important when you go to sell it). And even then, why do you need a title if you don't have to register it?
I don't think we have ever had a "title" for any of our sailboats in Florida.

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | when you apply for a title, they get tax money out of you from the sale.

Chip has someone told you different?
