back in the mid 1980s - when I was a teenager, I had a hobie catamaran(it was 1983 or earlier). It was big, had yellow pontoons, and had two trampolines.
Anybody know what this was? did they make many of them? or is the front trampoline something you can add to the hobie? I'm getting back into sailing and was looking for one like that for me and the kids and I didn't want to buy a Getaway brand new? Any suggestions?
I'd like something used w/ 2 tramps, fairly good sized that can move. Help.

Most likely a Hobie 21 with front tramp option. Also had a hard cowl for the front crossbar available back then. Several listed for sale in Canada.

Big and Yellow. Sounds like a TheMightyHobie18
The 21 wasn't made until 87 and the 21 Sport cruiser in 92

No Hobie model had a front trampoline back in the 80's. The 21 SC is the first and was designed in the early 90's.

Like another user posted... think G Cat.
