Posts: 3,528 Looking for a Job, I got credi... | David, Thanks for this, can someone from the F16 class clarify this please: This page http://www.formula16.org/content/view/13/36/lang,en/ states: 1.12 The mainsail
1.12.1 The Mast & mainsail area may not be larger than 15 sq m.
1.12.2 The Mainsail luff length may not be longer that 8.1 m (= 8100 mm).
Where:
Mast & mainsail area = (mainsail area + (1/2 * mast area))
Mainsail area = all of the mainsail surface area that is outside of the mast while sailing
Mast area = mainsail luff length * the cirumference of the mast [color:"red"] what about tapered masts?
Mainsail luff length is defined as the distance measured alongside the (straight) mast from highest point of a normally hoisted mainsail towards the lowest point reached when the downhaul is used.
[color:"red"] BUT in order to apply max downhaul, the mast will bend. Or is the intention that the sail be hoisted and the top marked(A), then sail then be MAX downhauled and this point marked(B), and then the sail removed, all prebend(and reg tension) removed from the rig, and then these two points (A to B) measured ??????
I'm also still waiting for a definitive list of values for the SCHRS rule calculation. Thanks Simon

Sorry Simon, I assumed that as Wouter had jumped in on that particular one, after I replied that I would get what you wanted, you now had all you required. If you have specific requests in SCHRS terms, can you please PM me in future - rather than have a free-for-all here on the forum? Thanks.
