Hi

I am sailing the nacra 500. It Is a club's boat - not mine.
I would like to buy a catamaran that I can sail alone, and sometimes with a friend.
I am not racing just having fun at sea.
Is the Hobicat wave with a jib is enough ? Or is it a slow and "boring" boat for me (after the Nacra) ? Or shoud I consider the Hobie cat 17 SPORT ?

Thanks

Ido

Hey, what's wrong with the Nacra 500 to sail single handed ?
The Hobie Wave is a total different league than the Nacra 500. The Wave is more or less a toy-boat, you'd better consider the Hobie Max or the Getaway. FX-One is also a probability, very good one-up and easy to rig for two.
I've never sailed the Hobie 17 Sport, dunno if it is ok for singled handed sailing ? Please leave the geriatric seats... ;-)

Traded my HC17 (main sail only) for an FX-One (main + spi).
Go for the FX!

Ido, it depends on what you are after, I suspect that the you will probably be a little bored on the Wave after the Nacra. The Wave has a halyard, a manual downahual, and a mainsheet - not much too it. I suggest finding another similar Nacra or consider a larger Hobie (16 or maybe a 17).

The Wave actually has a really neat racing class that results in very tight racing, but outside of that, I would consider the boat not terribly entertaining.
