Have a look at:

http://www.opengate.se/vastervik/Content/a_cat_vm_frames.html

Only 18 boats classified in the first race.
Only 6 boats classified in the second race.
Only 5 boats classified both in the first and the second races.
All the others show no. 2 DNC and are already out of contention for the top places at the first days.
Most of them drove/flew thousand miles to get to Vestervik!!!
I can't imagine what's happened.
Any idea to explain these "strange" results?

The provisional results published at 13.55 have been just updated.
No more DNCs!
It was only a mistake of the organizers.

I would really like to know how much time elapsed between the first finisher and the last and how long the race was. I am looking for this kind of info on any one design cat race. unfortunately they do not keep times on non portsmouth races. I guess I could get it from mixed races where similar boats raced.

I think what's happening is that they are scoring and publishing incrementally as boats finish; hence all the DNCs early on.

Wow...now THAT is domination. The future looks bright for Ashby Sails.

OCS: On Course Side.

You are scored OCS if you are over the starting line when the gun goes and dont go back to start correctly.

Thnx Rolf, it's just that I noticed Steve Brewen was OCS on the last two races dropping well down after a good start.

Bern,
I expected Steve to come through in the end but given the finishes probably only a 3rd or 4th but really was surprised at the OCS's.
Such is life!

Phill

If you don't OCS atleast a start every now and then, then you are not pushing starts hard enough. Stevie is one of the best starters I have seen but now and again you can have a shocker. Bad luck Stevie.
