Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | Mumbles Yacht Club will be hosting the A Class Nationals and F16 Open from the 11th to 13th May 2007. At present the A's are having a three day event. What do the F16's want to do? It's your call. I will definately be organising camping in the Village so that will reduce accomodation costs. Posts: 1,382 Essex, UK | Will this be the 07 Nations Cup?
If it is then IMO it needs to be 3 days.
If it's an F16 Open and the 07 Nations Cup is elswhere then 12th and 13th is plenty.

If you don't know what I'm on about ask anybody who went to Eastborune. MP*MULTIHULLS | | | Re: A Class UK National Championships and F16 Open

Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | That's not a great help if you're from Oz. We called ourselves the F16 Circus due to our very chilled out attitude towards the Racing at Eastborne. We were amongst 2 V.Fast Capricorn Sailors and an extremely competitive Spitfire Class. Needless to say that some F16's didn't absorb either the S.I's or attended the Skippers Meeting this did lead to some confusion on the Race course. Other 16's got very close up and personal with the Committee boat, the PRO wasn't too sure if the Blade was an F16 and didn't score them in the right Fleet. Another 16 sailor arrived early Saturday morning, completed one race and then returned home back to London. He told his partner that he was just popping out!!!! (Brave man). Due to the Comedy of errors and a few pints on Saturday night it was agreed that the F16 United Kingdom Association (FUKA)for short should be amended to the F16 Circus. P D Warren (Ring Master) J&P Alani (Jugglers) A&J Thomas (Clowns) W Richards (Lion Trainer) T Hoyle (Escapologist) E Maxwell (Strongman) Me (Trapeze Artist) D Tugwell, J pierce and S Guy (Orchestrators) MP*MULTIHULLS | | | Re: A Class UK National Championships and F16 Open

Posts: 183 | The Nations cup was originally intended to be a Europeans for the F16's, as such it would be nice to see it move around, howvr with the Dutch hosting the Global challenge and in the absence of any other european fleet it may as well be run in the UK. I think most people would be happy to see it run at Mumbles again and seeing as we have a 3 day event already being organised, why not simply re-run it as last year.
Obviously the ringpiece himself will have the final say but I would propose that if no-one comes up with a better idea let's call the Mumbles event the Nations Cup and UK F16 Nationals.
By the way true the F16 circus tradition you have all got Sue's name wrong I don't know where Sue Guy comes from, but I live with Sue Davis.

I don't think we ever appointed anyone to that position... but for what it's worth, I agree: it would be great to see the nations cup held in other countries, but for '07 I think it only makes sense to have it in the UK. Mumbles is a great venue, and if we have to opportunity to join up with an existing 3-day event it would seem like the obvious choice. I heard some people suggest that it'd be nice to have the "big" event a bit later in the season but we've now got Zandvoort for that, right? That one may be tracked back to me. I have sailed with Sue Guy for a while and that was right in the first year of the F16 class. Things that happened in the first year have a hard time dying. There are still people calling us F16 HT even when that name was only used for 4 months back in the summer of 2001. I guess Sue GUY fall under the same die-hard category.
