Has anyone drilled out the obvious hole location for a retrieval line in the Blade Dagger boards?

I think this is what was originally used by the Taipan to raise the boards.

I do have drilled the hole locations on my Blade, no problem. What you probably also need is this eyelet:

Otherwise you risk the retrieval line getting jammed between the daggerboard and the hull.

On some of my old single handers, I had a second eyelet along side to pull the board dwon too.

JJD,

Sorry, no pictures. It was the regular Taipan 4.9 setup; a retrieval line attached to the hole in the daggerboard, then through the eyelet and then somewhere to the other hull (or knot both retrieval lines together)so you can retrieve it without going to the lee-side.

Here is a picture of a Blade build by Dynautic with its daggerboard lifting system.

I know carbon is all the rage but isn't the piccie of the Dynautic boat with its dagger board set in a nice carbon case just begging for long term problems. Yah see carbon is very very soft and very prone to abrasion unlike Kevlar or even good old E glass, now one has to raise that board pretty often together with all its little bits of attached sand etc acting as sandpaper, mmmmm I think I'll want to review that design in a couple of years time.
