Those selected by Amando are:...

The selection being a loose proposal, of course, based in the bad info i've gathered.

Didn't want to hurt any feelings...

Might be interesting to see how they get all the America Cup boats on the lake of Geneva <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Get out your atlas and check to see how big Lake Geneva is, it may be done end for end in a day by the super cats ( about 30 odd feet with 4 crew and Genoas that came back beyond the rear of the boat ) but I think you would be easily be impressed by its size. Spain was picked on a purely commercial basis ie who would pay the most for the privilidge of hosting the event. Mind you it is a nice site and one of the prettier areas of the Spanish costas which have been so dreadfully spoilt by all the development.

is there a special tactic for team racing , or are only the first team members scored?

Add the points of all the places for your team, the team with the lowest points wins. The ISAF rules book has a section devoted to teams racing rules.

There is a whole different tactic and strategic side to team racing.

Instead of trying to do your individual best you can work together as a group to raise the points scored by the team. A few times a team member will sacrifize himself in the way of individual points to improve the team total.

I have to work now but maybe tonight we'll get into a discussion of possible tactics.

Bear in mind though that I'm not a good team racer be any standard. I know a few things and I'm a quick learning. Alot of tactics were used against me last time during a Tacticat race as was one of the top scores in the game. The spanish have their act sorted much better in this field. So we need to formulate an answer or go down in flames.

Till later.

Wouter

The date assigned to us is :

F16 Tue 5 Sep, 21:30 (GMT)

With GMT meaning Greenich Mean Time; this is the same as UTC and denotes the time zone of London England WITHOUT daylight savings time adjustment. So everybody look up your local time offset relative to UTC/GMT and be on time.

Also the true GMT time is given at the top of this page in red ! :

http://www.tacticat.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=14

So you can also deduce your local time that way.

We will be team racing the world.

Maybe it is a good idea to do some training before that time, just the sort out some obvious tactics/glitches

I say lets do this on Friday 1 sept at midnight GMT ! Everybody agree ?

For more info on team makes etc look at :

http://www.tacticat.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=14

We still have room for more teammembers, So Tony J. and Berny, if team Australia fails to form then you are welcome to team F16.

Wouter

Races for all teams are scheduled. The first round will be each team vs world. If you show up in numbers you can be world against any host team (F18, spaniards,...)

Dates and times at tacticat home page, but please, make your math for the GMT conversion. All pages at tacticat website show the current GMT time, you can work your time shift from there-
