Sorry, I'm not up on my racing classes... What exactly is a C-class cat? I saw a 25' prototype C-class cat for sale (mid 80's I think). The boat only weighs around 700 lbs so there can't be much to it, although it does have an aluminum mast. I assume it's just a bare bones over-sized beach cat made out of some light weight construction???

Can you guys tell me a little about C-class boats?

A C class cat is certainly no run of the mill beach cat. They are all custom racing boats, usually cutting edge technology and very expensive. See the link above, they are big, fast and not for the recreational crowd. If you found an old one for sale it is probably stripped of most of the goodies or so outdated it is no longer competetive to race. I think you would have a lot of work to do to make it into a recreational boat if that is what you want.
