Matt McDonald is respectably in the middle of the pack (and a high finish of 4th for the day).

The A Cat results are now up...

Quote
Guck, Former Tornado helm is dominating the event * bullets so far... Not bad since Pete Melvin (Olympic Medalist and past world champion is back on the water after a collision. (Bad scene... NEW Nacra A2 versus NEW Geltek Flyer 2... OUCH)

30 racers in Bristol...

Our local guys, Tony Arrends is hanging in the top 10 and Mark Bellelrman and Chris Ford are 10 and 18 respectively.. Way to go guys!

Matt's moved up to 13th place.

Anybody watching the results...Lars Guck has straight bullets in every race (12 races). Is this possible? He's gotta be damn good....certainly can't be luck.

I believe this is true..can anyone confirm?

Ian Lindahl (finished #9 at Bristol, probably on a VM Bim) is now working with Matt at running the sailing cat (f16 and A) production at VM. Ian was instrumental at getting me to my first regatta on the F16 and has a VERY strong family history (Lindahl 18 squares and more) at building lightweight cats.

Ian will do a a good job and thanks for your help!! Just wanted to make sure he got noticed, as well.

Any input on this topic?

Tom

Ian was extremely helpful to me as well. Both at the factory, when I picked up my boat and at JPOR.

Thanks Ian.

First of all, it is nice too see Matt do well at this event. Looking into the (hot) kitchen of another class is always very educational.

Secondly I certainly hope that the news about Ian is true. It certainly sounds like a very good development. People with a passion for sailing are invaluable.

Ian left Vectorworks. He purchased my A2 and is now sailing the A2. Rumor has it that he has landed a job at Hall Spars.
I raced 18 Squares with Jon, Ian's dad, and had the opportunity to see Ian grow up into the fine young man he is today! I hope he continues in the catamaran sailing industry! We don't see enough young people coming into the sport.
