A navigation tab on the left of the homepage will take you to a new section specifically for the 2007 Global Challenge.

Details of the planned week of racing and entertainments will be published there. Also there is a link to an entry form in Word format that we would like people to complete so that we can get an idea of likely numbers of competitors.

On the form you can indicate whether you will be definitely attending/thinking about it. Please be totally honest about this so that we can get a reasonably accurate feel for what is required to make the week work.

If you may be sailing 2-up rather than solo, but don't definitely have a crew please indicate this with either 'TBA' if you will arrange your own crew, or 'crew required' if you would like us to link you up with someone. If the latter case applies then it would be useful if you could indicate somewhere on the form what your weight as helm is.

If you want to race, but don't have a boat and wish to crew, please fill in the form accordingly. If you wish to race but need to charter a boat, again fill in the form and we will see what we can do. Well we've got pre-entry forms coming in, so we know it works...

BUT we've only had TWO from the UK (and one was mine) so what's going on?

Just a quick update on the pre entry forms wich came in.
There will be also a list on the website but this will follow soon.
We have the following
1 Australia
1 Belgium
4 UK ( 1 not sure )
2 Dutch
1 Norway

From the dutch i know there will at least 3 more but they did not send in the form yet. So there are already 12 boats and 1 person from the US who wants to crew.
So people please send in the form so we can make a fantastic Global Challenge.

I am the not-sure and it is looking tight as finances my preclude (new boat, few other new toys and a family Ski holiday are draining the coffers somewhat).

I'll know more in a month or 2 (really depends if the 17 sells this year).

If the 17 does not sell, then I'll be a no; BUT, I may be willing to charter my boat out on the condition that I crew for the driver.

I'm not sure I'd let an almost new boat out on the North Sea (nasty surf is a possability) without being on-board. Would be looking to share costs.

Wasn't there an American sailro who wanted to sail at the Zandvoort event. Maybe Scooby and him can form a team together. Splitting the cost between the two of you will always be cheaper then shipping a boat in from USA.

Hello F16 sailors,

As you can see we are going on with the organisation of the Global Challenge 2007 in Zandvoort. But we have to say that there are already some sailors who did fill in the pre-entry form but what we know from the memebers list there are a lot more F16 sailors and we did not have recieved there pre-entry form. It would be great if we can get around 30 to 40 boats at the first international event of the F16 catamaran, on the moment we are on +/- 20 boats from all around the world.
So please people sign in so we know what we can expect and that we can make a very good international event.

If you go to the formula 16 website www.formula16.org and go to the Global Challenge section there can you download the pre-entry form as a Word document. If you fill this in you can send it to hansklok@formula16.org
When this is not working please use hansklok@casema.nl

The pre-entry form will also be available on the event website soon (today or tomorrow)
