Well, It happened! I left the plugs out and just about lost my H16. I just couldn't figure out why the boat was so sluggist in the nice 15 knot breeze. It wouldn't turn worth a damn and was very sensitive to weight position. OH MY HEAVENS!!!! I've left the plugs out and we are sinking. I made it to a dock and kind of laid the mast gentley accross it with the hulls pointing to the sky ^^. More embarrassing <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />than dangerous, but real learning experience.
Now the question. How do I make sure that the hulls dry out properly?

Unless you have ports installed you're stuck with elevating the bows and letting the water drain.

I doubt that there very many of us that do not belong the the "why does my boat feel weird" club. The question is how many of us out there are 2+? I will admit, yes I have actualy done it twice.

Yes, I've done it too. Fortunatly I relized just a couple of minutes after I left the harbour. I sailed back and pulled the boat up with my trax a bit at the time to let the hulls empty. The boat was to heavy with all the water to pull upp all in one time.

Did that one on my old 14 Turbo. Well I went back to try to put the plugs in from the tramp (instead of going in the water and doing it). Well you guess it over turtle I went. I had to take the boat apart turtle and get towed in upside down. NOW that is embarassing !!!! We have all been there.

I once rigged a boat for two friends and asked the one to put the pulgs in. Lesson learn't. Don't assume people know how to put plugs in. I was luckily on another boat, and found out later they had almost sunk:)Both plugs gone??

Otto von Bismark, the first Chancellor of Germany, is creditied with saying, "Fools learn from experience. I prefer to learn from other people's experience." Thanks for the story - now I'll keep two extra plugs in the parts bag on my boat.
